Why can't I use Google Analytics with my Wordpress blog?

Question by Jennifer C: Why can't I use Google Analytics with my Wordpress blog?
I'm somewhat of a novice Wordpress user, but I'd like to put Google Analytics on my blog. I've found several tutorials, but they all refer to features that I can't find on my dashboard. (Such as the appearance>theme>editor feature.) I'm guessing it must be available only to paid Wordpress users, but does anyone know a way around that?
