which is better blogspot or wordpress?

Question by Jon: which is better blogspot or wordpress?
I have just started blogging and got a blogger because it was easy already have a gmail. but is wordpress better. i am just trying to build up a portfolio of writings to help me in the future. so are there any glaring pros and cons of either. does it not matter.
