Can I create a basic corporate website from wordpress template?

Question by Missy: Can I create a basic corporate website from wordpress template?
I'm designing website for a friend family and they have a professional service they are offering. Although I havent been to school for design I'm pretty darn good at it and can pick it up easy. I have dreamweavers trial.....For some reason I think Wordpress templates look very smooth, crisp, and professional. So is that wierd to use a wordpress template?
